In 2009, Phase One of the Ma= ster Recreation Plan will be completed. The first phase includes the demoli= tion of the existing playground area, the creation of a twenty space paved = parking area, (including one handicapped space), and the installation of a = new playground area.

There will be a lighted seating a= rea in the middle of the new playground area. There will be a path fro= m the new parking area to the new playground area. The parking area will be= located at the north entrance. The new playground equipment will be locate= d to the west of the existing stage.

Phase Two includes major renovati= ons to the 215 Lincoln Avenue building, including an enclosed pavilion and = a stage area. A walking path around the playground is also part of the seco= nd phase

Walnutport Centennia= l

In 2009 the Borough of Walnutp= ort will be celebrating its 100th= Birthday. A committee of Volu= nteers is currently putting together a Centennial Celebration. 

There are a host of activities= being scheduled for the fourth weekend in May. Starting Friday, May 22, th= ere will be a kick-off banquet.  Watch for information on how to purchase banquet tickets. 

On Saturday, May 23, there wil= l be a parade which will march through the Borough of Walnutport and end up= at the Walnutport Playground for a day of activities and celebration.  The festivities will end with a C= hurch service on Sunday, May 24.

 It is very costly to conduct such an undertaking. The Cente= nnial committee will be conducting several fund raisers over the next few m= onths leading up to the Centennial Celebration.  Watch for advertisements!! 

The Centennial Committee put t= ogether a Borough of Walnutport Centennial Book which can be ordered at the= Borough Office. The book will be filled with pictures and historic informa= tion about the Borough.  Pleas= e give your support to this special event!!
